Fire and Safety Awareness Programme

The Department of Fire and Rescue Service, Thuvarankuruchi, in association with Sri Meenakshi Vidiyal Arts and Science College, organized a Fire and Safety Awareness Programme on 30 June 2026 at 11:30 a.m. in the college auditorium.

The programme was presided over by Dr. S. Devaraj, Founder & Chairman, Vidiyal Group of Institutions, along with Ms. Shirley Devaraj, Correspondent & Secretary of the college. Mr. K. Sekar, Special Station Officer, Fire & Rescue Service Station, Thuvarankuruchi, attended as the Chief Guest.

The Fire and Rescue Service team conducted the awareness programme to educate students on fire safety, prevention, emergency response, and rescue measures. The event provided students with valuable awareness about handling fire-related emergencies and ensuring personal and public safety.

Mr. R. Velmurugan, Mr. C. Ilavarasan, Mr. E. Ponmudi, Mr. M. Muthukalai, Mr. R. Ganesaperumal and Mr. R. Jayakumar.

Freshers’ Day

Sri Meenakshi Vidiyal Arts and Science College organized a Freshers’ Day programme on 6 July 2026 (Monday) at 10:00 a.m. in the college auditorium.

The programme was presided over by Dr. S. Devaraj, Founder & Chairman of Vidiyal Group of Institutions, along with Ms. Shirley Devaraj, Correspondent & Secretary. Mr. Satish Devaraj, Managing Director, and Dr. A. Dominic Amalraj, Principal, were also present.

The Chief Guest, Dr. Pr. Alagammai, Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil, Ganesar College of Arts & Science, Ponnamaravathi, was invited to address the gathering.

The event aimed to warmly welcome the new batch of first-year students as they began their academic journey, while promoting a spirit of togetherness, enthusiasm, and belonging among the students.

Bridge Course

The Bridge Course was organized for the first-year students of Sri Meenakshi Vidiyal Arts and Science College from 7th to 9th July 2026. The programme was conducted to provide students with an effective academic transition into college life and to strengthen their foundational learning.

The sessions were handled by faculty members from the Department of English, namely Mr. V. Karthik (HOD), Mr. V. Vijay, Mrs. M. Kayalvizhi, and Mrs. A. Geetha, who served as the resource persons.

Overall, the Bridge Course served as an introductory academic programme aimed at helping first-year students begin their college journey with greater confidence and preparedness.
